Session #6 - July 29, 2000
"Does Scotch burn well?" -- Nick Johnson
"Um . . . no . . . no it doesn't." -- Early Hutz

In game time: January 21 - 22, 1925
The Victims: Nick, Early, William
Summery: The investigators decide to check out the importer's at night as their last stop before leaving the country.  They cleverly use stealth to approach the importers, but they hear drumming going on as they near it.  Nick also happens to hear something awful lurking below.  A boost allows Early to sneak in through a window and once inside chanting can be heard.  As it stops, an unearthly cry goes out and everyone hides.  Something moves among them in the warehouse but leaves as quickly as it arrives.  Then there's movement and one of the crates near William is being pushed aside.  Early shouts out a warning and when the crate is removed the cultists know the investigators are there.  No one comes out of the revealed hole, but the drumming and chanting starts again.  While they're occupied the investigators try to locate something else in the warehouse finding that most of the files are fraudulant, but there are extensive records for two groups.  Whatever left before comes back and grabs Nick but vanishes quickly.  Then the front door bursts open to reveal a giant serpent creature with one flapping wing.  It doesn't enter the importers but instead flies away from the door.  Heading back the warehouse finds a single cultist who's been willing to come out of the hole at them.  After a moment, the snake creature appears again to grab William and begin crushing him.  Fast action by Nick prevents him from getting eaten.  William does get crushed into unconciousness, but the serpent lets him go after when Early stabs it.  Rather than try to move through the warehouse, the investigators run for the front door.  Nick pauses to cover their escape and kills the cultist with a single shot who's then messily devoured by the serpent.  As they flee they see the monster circling the building.  At the hospital, they encounter somone who's only pretending to be a doctor and Nick calls the police.  Heading back to Early's apartment after finishing the outpatient treatment they hear the monster again just outside, but it vanishes as the sun rises.  A kid selling newspapers lets them know that when the police raided the importers last night the result was twenty-two police officers dead and the importers has burned down.
Plot threads: Is the cult gone?  What about the books?  Will there be more snake creatures showing up at inopportune moments?  What's the link between the cult and the Penhew Foundation?

Most Valuable Character: Nick for preventing anyone from getting eaten while miraculously avoiding getting eaten himself
Biggest Blunder: Early tipping off the cultists that the investigators were in their warehouse
