Session #4 - July 8, 2000
"If it weren't for the EDS™, we might be dead, or worse!" -- Nick Johnson

In game time: January 16 - 17, 1925
The Victims: Nick, Early, William
Summery: Deciding that it would be a good idea to avoid confrontation at the importers Nick and William get out of there.  Early leaves a message at the office which William and Nick get so they head to the hospital to meet him.  Bernard's been hospitalized and will be for at least a week.  Paranoid, they decide to group together and spend the evening at the office rather than go to their respective homes.  During the night an office break in is attempted, but they're scared off.  The next day at the funeral of Jackson Elias, his publisher turns over all of Elias's notes to the investigators.  They learn many strange and disturbing things from these notes.  The investigators decide they want to contact Erica Carlyle, and Early manages to set up an appointment with her for the next day.
Plot threads: What did happen to the Carlyle Expedition?  What did Elias find in Shanghai and London?  What about the doctor's information Elias mentions in his own notes?  What is the connect to the Penhew Foundation?  What books are in the Carlyle's safe?  What is the cult up to?

Most Valuable Character: Early for making a miraculous roll and convincing Erica Carlyle that he'd be worth speaking to
Biggest Blunder: Everyone sleeping at the office on the night I planned to have it ransacked
