Session #13 - September 23, 2000
"Lyre, hell.  What we need is a tank." -- Alexander St. James

In game time: Beyond the Boundries of Time and Space
The Victims: Eric, Roland, Alexander, Early
Summery: At the new hotel, Roland and Alexander try to get some sleep after their ordeal.  At roughly the same time, Early passes out from the wounds he recieved at the hands of a cleaning woman.  Roland dreams of the bent pyramid in Dhashur and he explores it finding steps down to gates of horn and ivory.  James dreams of entering a mishapen sphynx and finding the same thing.  Early dreams of a pregnant woman on a mountain top somewhere and then locates his own steps.  All three find themselves lost in the woods together.  Nearby is a small hut made out of living ears of corn.  They enter it and the entrance vanishes trapping them within it.  James tries to stick his hand through the corn but it begins eating him and when he pulls his hand out tiny corn stalks are growing out of it.  To their rescue comes Eric who is weilding a scythe with a handle apparently made out of the leg of a peice of furnature.  When they are free, they spot a creature that is half man, half bird flying over them and he lands.  The creature informs the group that the Eternal Horus and Osirus are looking for them.  The bird man also tells them that they hate each other and to reach them the group must follow the Nile.  James borrows Eric's scythe and tries to remove the corn from his hand but cuts it clean off.  There is no blood from the wound, though.  They locate a road, pick a direction and follow it, but Eric vanishes.  Along the road they meet a Roman centurian who says he is going to Alexandria.  While they are talking with him a mob emerges from the forest and he is forced to flee.  The group then proceeds down the road in the same direction as the Centurian and before long they come to a Greek village with a small temple on a hill overlooking it.  They examine the temple and find it is dedicated to Hades.  The road divides and one path goes underground while the other continues.  Since they're both gods of the underworld and have a river, the group decides to enter the cave and hope Hades knows something.  They enter the cave and find a river which rapidly ages whatever is put into it.  A ferryman poles a boat ashore and Early gives him a special coin as payment for crossing.  On the far side of the river, they find Cerberus, but manage to get past him when a World War 1 era tank lands on him and slows him down for a few seconds.  Inside Hades itself the group finds masses of the dead, and a rolling black cloud engulfs them.  When it clears they are in the throne room of Hades.  The god wants to know why the Eternal Horus and Osirus are so interested in them, but the investigators don't know.  Hades tells them that the Eternal Horus is the Horus that did not die because he was immortal when he became Horus.  Flying demon like creatures arrive and grab the group as it is revealed that Hades has traded them to the Eternal Horus.  They take off and are soon being carried over a desert.  Eric reunites with them there and he is riding a creature like the ones that are carrying them.  The day shifts to night, and a snake creature that Early recognizes from before comes out of the sky to attack the group.  They're forced down and try to fight the beast which nearly bites Eric in half but he manages to deliver a fatal shot to it.  Eric is really insistant that they get to see Osirus, but Roland wants to go to the Bent Pyramid.  They walk over the dunes in the desert for a little while and finally come to the Nile river.  Across the river there is the Bent Pyramid, a red colored pyramid, and a handful of creatures like men with crocodile heads and they swim across the river to attack the group.  Early, Eric, and Alexander try to fight them off while Roland runs for his life.  A swarm of locusts then comes at them.  Roland and Early get out of the way, but they tear into Alexander and Eric until a flock of birds shows up to eath them.  Eric's skeleton is picked clean by the swarm and Alex is barely alive.  Eric reappears moments later across the river with a boat insisting that everyone get in and go to the red pyramid to see Osirus.  Roland doesn't trust him, though and kicks Eric out of the boat to take it.  They cross the river and rush to the Bent Pyramid, but then a sandstorm comes up.  The group finds themselves in the wrong pyramid where Osirus tells them that the seals have to be restored.  And then they wake up.
Plot Threads: How much of this was just a dream and how much was real?

Most Valuable Character: Eric for being a good sport about having to essentially play himself as an NPC for the dream
Biggest Blunder: Roland getting a failure while trying to whip up the wrath of God and not getting the effect he intended
