Session #9 - August 19, 2000
"Well, there were the gray men, the fish monsters, and worst of all, Charles Fort." -- Roland Windemeer

In game time: January 26 - February 3, 1925
The Victims: William, Eric, Roland, Early, James
Summery: As those who were seasick recover, the group overhears the men leaving their cabin across the way.  They try to use the opportunity to search their room, but can't manage to get the door open.  Early follows the men and witnesses a meeting between them and another odd man.  As they head back to their cabin, early stalls them and manages to get invited to eat dinner with them.  The investigators then spend some time looking for the person they met without much luck.  That evening Early learns much about them men over dinner while Roland encounters his old enemy Charlse Fort.  William searches their cabin while they are eating dinner but doesn't find anything.  Later James searches the same cabin and finds a stone tablet with unusual writing on it.  He gets Roland to make a copy of it.  Nick has spotted something moving out on the ocean and informs William that the ship is being circled by something.  Before long the ship is being attacked and Nick and William go overboard.  William sees a sea monster while he's in the water, but is rescued.  Nick however is lost at sea.   During the attack, James spots the two men grabbing the tablet and carrying it off somewhere.  When he tries to stop them he gets knocked out with one punch.  The men vanish and the attack suddenly stops, though no one is quite certain what happened.
Plot Threads: What was going on with the ship?  Who were the strange men talking to?  What was written on the tablet?

Most Valuable Character: Early for actually aproaching the men politely at a decent time and getting invited to dinner
Biggest Blunder: William getting his lockpick broken off in the cabin door
